About

Wyandotte Campground occupies a scenic peninsula on the southern shore of Little Grass Valley Reservoir, a 1,600-acre clear mountain lake in the Plumas National Forest. Located about 2 miles from the town of La Porte at 5,100 feet elevation, the campground is surrounded by mixed-conifer forest and offers easy access to water recreation including swimming, fishing, and both motorized and non-motorized boating. The campground has 30 sites, including two double sites. Twelve sites in the southern half are reservable through Recreation.gov; the remainder are first-come, first-served. All sites have paved parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Campground amenities include flush toilets, potable water from faucets, and trash service. A seasonal campground host is present. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with bald eagles, ospreys, deer, and black bears in the area. The north loop of the campground may close temporarily during bald eagle nesting season. Bear-aware food storage practices are required. Stay limit is 14 days, with a maximum of 8 people and 2 vehicles per site.
