Peninsula Tent Campground is a 25-unit walk-in tent campground situated on Little Grass Valley Reservoir in the Plumas National Forest. The campground features shaded sites with picnic tables and fire rings, along with paved roads providing easy access to the parking area. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Little Grass Valley Recreation Area. The reservoir offers opportunities for fishing, water skiing, sailing, and swimming at nearby Pancake Beach. The 13-mile Lakeshore Trail encircles the entire lake and is open to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The Pacific Crest Trail is accessible from the area, and nearby attractions include Chimney Rock and Fowler Peak for those seeking additional hiking and nature viewing opportunities. Campers come prepared for a range of activities including water sports, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and equestrian adventures. The well-shaded setting provides a relaxing atmosphere away from more developed campgrounds in the area.
