About

Peninsula Tent Campground offers a well-shaded camping experience on the peninsula jutting into Little Grass Valley Reservoir in Plumas National Forest. The 25 walk-in tent sites are accessed by foot from a paved parking area, providing a quieter atmosphere than drive-in campgrounds. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box for food storage. The campground features flush toilets and potable water during the operating season, along with trash service. At 5,060 feet elevation, the campground typically opens mid-June and operates through fall, depending on weather conditions. Nearby attractions include Pancake Beach, Chimney Rock, Fowler Peak, and access to the Pacific Crest Trail. Popular activities include swimming, lake fishing, motorized and non-motorized boating, mountain biking, and day hiking. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 2 vehicles. Pets must be leashed and attended at all times. Check-in is 2:00 p.m. and check-out is noon.
