About
Little Beaver Campground sits on the southeastern shore of Little Grass Valley Reservoir, approximately four miles from the historic gold mining town of La Porte. At 5,060 feet elevation, this 120-unit facility is the largest campground at the reservoir and offers a mix of reservable and first-come-first-served sites. The campground features paved roads and parking pads, with overflow parking available for trailers and additional vehicles. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and paved parking pad. The location provides direct access to diverse recreation opportunities on the 1,600-acre reservoir. The Maidu Boat Launch and Blue Water Beach Day Use Area are immediately adjacent to the campground. The 13.5-mile Lakeshore Trail circles the entire reservoir and is open to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. The reservoir supports fishing, water skiing, and sailing, with a wheelchair-accessible fishing platform located at the dam. An amphitheater next to the campground hosts ranger programs during the summer season. Wildlife viewing opportunities include osprey, bald eagles, deer, and black bears, with Bald Mountain providing a scenic backdrop.
