Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park above 4500 feet. * WHEN...From 5 PM Friday to 11 PM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute and weekend mountain travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels generally remain above pass levels through Friday afternoon, dropping to around 6000-7000 ft Friday night-Saturday, then lowering to around 4000-5000 ft late Saturday into Sunday. Heaviest snow rates and lowest snow levels will be Saturday afternoon through Sunday.

Tooms RV Campground is a paved RV campground located on the shores of Little Grass Valley Reservoir at 5,060 feet elevation in Plumas National Forest. The campground features 20 first-come, first-served sites with paved parking pads and paved roads throughout. The facility is designed primarily for RVs, with some sites accommodating trailers up to 40 feet in length. The campground provides access to excellent fishing, boating, and swimming on Little Grass Valley Reservoir. The nearby Lakeshore Trail offers scenic hiking around the reservoir, and Pancake Beach Day-use area is close by. An RV dump station is located near Tooms Boat Launch. The campground operates seasonally, typically from late spring through early November, depending on weather and snow conditions.

Directions

From the town of La Porte travel approximately 2 miles on Main Street/Quincy La Porte Road. Continue forward on Little Grass Valley Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right on Peninsula Road. Tooms RV Campground is 0.5 mile from Little Grass Valley Road.
