About
Red Feather Campground is one of eight campgrounds surrounding Little Grass Valley Reservoir in Plumas National Forest, located at 5,060 feet elevation in the Sierra Nevada. The campground offers 60 reservable sites spread across two loops, with 12 coveted lakeside positions and the remainder nestled in characteristic mixed-conifer forest. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring with grill, bear-resistant food storage box, and paved parking spur. The campground provides flush toilets, potable water, and trash collection throughout the facility. A seasonal camp host is present. This is a tent and RV-friendly campground, though no utility hookups are available. The reservoir provides excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, and both motorized and non-motorized boating. Hiking trails meander through the scenic hills and valleys surrounding the lake. The area typically opens in late June after snowmelt and operates through early September, with a 14-day stay limit.
