About
Little Beaver A Campground is the largest and most developed campground at Little Grass Valley Reservoir in Plumas National Forest, offering 120 campsites along the southeastern shore. The campground features a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served sites, with premium lakeside sites available for an additional fee. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and paved parking pad. The campground is ideally situated for water recreation, positioned adjacent to the Maidu Boat Launch and Blue Water Beach Day Use Area. The 13.5-mile Lakeshore Trail starts nearby, winding around the entire reservoir and open to hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Little Grass Valley Reservoir offers excellent opportunities for fishing, water-skiing, sailing, and swimming. The nearby Pacific Crest Trail and numerous other hiking trails provide additional exploration opportunities. Located approximately four miles from the historic gold mining town of La Porte, the campground sits at 5,060 feet elevation in a beautiful forested setting with views of the lake and Bald Mountain. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with osprey, bald eagles, deer, and bear commonly observed in the area. The campground features paved roads, flush toilets, trash service, and a seasonal camp host. An overflow parking area accommodates trailers and excess vehicles.
Directions
From La Porte take Main Street/Quincy La Porte Road approximately 1.8 miles, continuing forward on Little Grass Valley Road. In approximately 1 mile turn right onto Old Little Grass Valley Road. Travel approximately 3.5 miles to campground.
