About
Little Beaver A Campground sits on the southeastern shore of Little Grass Valley Reservoir in the Plumas National Forest, approximately four miles from La Porte, California. With 120 sites spread across three loops, it is the largest campground in the Little Grass Valley Recreation Area. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, bear box, and paved parking pad. The campground features flush toilets, potable water, trash service, and a seasonal camp host. The location provides excellent access to water-based recreation. A swimming beach and boat launch ramp are adjacent to the campground. Three boat ramps around the reservoir support fishing, water-skiing, sailing, and general boating. The Lakeshore Trail winds 13.5 miles around the entire lake for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Wildlife viewing opportunities include osprey, bald eagles, deer, and bear. The historic gold mining town of La Porte is nearby with restaurants, groceries, and gasoline. Old mining sites, ghost towns, and historic cemeteries are all within 10 miles for exploration.
