* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 24 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph through this evening. * WHERE...Crawford and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Initial round of lake effect snow will bring an additional 2 to 6 inches of snowfall through tonight. Another impactful period of heavy lake effect snow will begin this evening and continue through Thursday evening. Snowfall amounts during this timeframe will range between 10 and 15 inches. Locally higher amounts up to 18 inches are possible where snow bands persist.

Woodcock Lake Park & Campground is located on Woodcock Creek Lake in Crawford County, northwest Pennsylvania, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility features 111 paved campsites, 75 equipped with electric hookups, available for primitive weekend camping during the summer season. The campground operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with camping available Friday and Saturday nights only, plus Sunday nights on holiday weekends. Sites cost $18 per night and include picnic tables. Beyond camping, the recreation area offers extensive day-use facilities including four reservable picnic shelters that accommodate up to 40 people, an 18-hole disc golf course, concrete cornhole boards, and a children's playground. The 333-acre lake provides opportunities for boating (20hp limit), canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. A 250-foot sandy swimming beach operates from 9 AM to dusk during the camping season. Visitors can walk across the mile-long dam, explore hiking trails through rolling hills and woodlands, and enjoy birding opportunities. The park is easily accessible from I-79 and nearby communities including Meadville, Erie, and Sagertown. Adjacent lands managed by the Crawford County Conservation District and Pennsylvania Game Commission offer additional recreational opportunities including hunting, trapping, and wildlife viewing. The campground follows Leave No Trace principles with a pack-in, pack-out trash policy.

From I-79, take the Conneautville/Saegertown exit to Route 198. Go 8.5 miles east on Route 198, then 1 mile south on Schultz Road, following Woodcock Creek Lake signs.
