About
Maurice K Goddard State Park is a 2,856-acre Pennsylvania state park in Mercer County, five minutes from Interstate 79. The park's centerpiece is the 1,680-acre Lake Wilhelm, which draws anglers and boaters seeking walleye, bass, northern pike, muskellunge, catfish, and panfish. The park provides boat launches and boat rentals during the season. The park's diverse landscape includes extensive wetlands, old fields, and mature forests that create excellent wildlife habitat. Birdwatchers can observe waterfowl, bald eagles, and osprey throughout the year. Adjacent State Game Lands 270 expands hunting and outdoor opportunities. The park offers year-round recreation with hiking trails, picnic areas, and winter activities including ice skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling when conditions permit. While Maurice K Goddard State Park does not have a campground, visitors can reserve day-use pavilions for gatherings. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, with day-use areas closing at dusk. A separate private facility, Goddard Park Vacationland Campground, is located adjacent to the state park on Georgetown Road.
