Willows Campground
Closed — Closed for the season. The campground typically operates from late spring through early fall, with exact dates varying by weather and snow conditions.
Hydrologic Outlook issued April 10 at 4:30PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR
ESFPDT Moderate rain this weekend in the Washington Cascades and northern Blue Mountains combined with snowmelt from above normal temperatures will lead to river rises this weekend and early next week. Most rivers are currently running at low levels and the increased streamflows will not be a problem. However, the Naches River at Cliffdell and at Naches are expected to rise above Action Stage early Saturday through Monday. The Grande Ronde River at Troy is expected to rise but stay barely below Action Stage Monday through Tuesday morning. Only localized minor flooding is expected. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.
About
Willows Campground sits on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains at the southern end of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, along the scenic Tieton River. The campground features 16 sites with parking spurs ranging from 20 to 35 feet, accommodating both tent campers and smaller RVs. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Vault toilets and hand-pumped drinking water are available. Interior roads and parking spurs are hard-packed but unpaved. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby wilderness areas and trails, including Little Wildcat Trail, Ironstone Mountain Trail, and Grey Rock Trail. The adjacent Tieton River is popular for whitewater paddling and fly fishing. Summer and early fall bring opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. Winter transforms the area into a destination for skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest encompasses more than 4 million acres of diverse terrain, from high glaciated alpine peaks along the Cascade Crest to lush old-growth valleys and rugged shrub-steppe country. Visitors can expect clear, sunny weather in summer and snowy winters with clear skies. The campground is reservable through Recreation.gov, with sites available for $20 per night. Payment on-site requires cash or check.
