Indian Creek Campground occupies a scenic location on the northwest shore of Rimrock Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, about 37 miles west of Yakima along Highway 12. The campground features 39 standard non-electric sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping, with vault toilets, drinking water from hand pumps, and picnic tables at each site. Trailers up to 32 feet are permitted. Rimrock Lake and the adjacent Tieton River provide extensive fishing opportunities for salmon, steelhead, and trout. River enthusiasts time visits for September when the Bureau of Reclamation releases water into the Tieton Valley, creating exciting whitewater rafting conditions. The lake itself offers swimming, canoeing, and water skiing. Mountain goats, native fish, migratory birds, and occasional sightings of threatened species like bald eagles and northern spotted owls inhabit the surrounding terrain. Nearby attractions include Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. The campground's location between the wet Cascade Crest (140 inches of precipitation) and the drier eastern slopes creates diverse forest habitats. Heavy snow closes the area in winter, with the camping season typically running through the summer and early fall months.

Directions

From Yakima, travel 37 miles west on Highway 12 (White Pass Highway) to the campground entrance, about 16 miles west of the junction of Highways 12 and 410. From Packwood, travel east on Highway 12 for about 20 miles east of White Pass.
