The Washington State Department of Ecology, Benton Clean Air Agency, and the Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency have issued an Air Quality Alert until further notice. For the Smoke Air Quality Alert, wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. About
Peninsula Campground is a dispersed camping destination located on the scenic eastern shore of Rimrock Lake within the Naches Ranger District of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. At 3,000 feet elevation, the campground accommodates both RVs and tents and provides basic facilities including vault toilets and a boat launch for lake access. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. Visitors must physically arrive to claim and pay for sites at $10 per night. Interagency Senior and Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount. Payment can be made via QR code through the Recreation.gov mobile app. No potable water is available on-site, so campers should bring an adequate supply. Recreation opportunities include motorized and non-motorized boating, swimming, lake fishing, and mountain biking on nearby trails.
Directions
From Naches, WA travel west on Highway 12 W for about 22 miles. Turn left at Lost Lake Rd onto Forest Road 1200 / Tieton Reservoir Rd. Follow Forest Road 1200 for 3 miles to Forest Road 711. Turn right and travel 1.5 miles.
