About

Lower Bake Oven Campground is part of a series of dispersed camping areas along the South Fork Tieton River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, located near Rimrock Lake. The campground sits at an elevation of 3,300 feet and is accessed via Forest Service Road 1200 to Forest Service Road 1000. This dispersed camping area accommodates both RV and tent camping, offering a more primitive experience in a forested riverside setting. The campground provides vault toilets that are available during the summer operating season, but no potable water is available on-site. Campers must treat or filter water from the nearby South Fork Tieton River. There are no trash receptacles, so visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all garbage. The area is part of a collection of dispersed camping locations including Jay Hawk, Upper Bake Oven, and Minnie Meadows, all located along the Forest Road 1000 corridor. Access requires driving on forest roads that may be rough and are typically closed by snow during winter months. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with an $8 per night per vehicle fee. Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount. The location provides access to day hiking opportunities and proximity to Rimrock Lake recreation.
