Willow Lake Campground is located on the east shore of Willow Lake at an elevation of 9,640 feet in an alpine basin high on the Wasatch Plateau within Manti-La Sal National Forest. The small lake is surrounded by spruce, fir, and aspen trees that provide partial shade in the campground, while the north and west lakeshore areas are covered in grasses and wildflowers. The campground contains 10 single-family sites, each with picnic tables and campfire rings. Most sites offer lake views, though none have direct lake access. A footpath leads from the campground to the shore, and a trail circles the entire lake featuring four stream crossings, two bridges, and fisherman access points on all sides. Wildlife and summer wildflowers are plentiful, and autumn brings spectacular foliage displays in the surrounding area. The campground serves as a primary staging area for the expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System, which offers more than 350 miles of designated, maintained trails suitable for all riding skill levels. Nearby attractions include Ferron Reservoir to the west and Skyline Drive, which runs along the top of the Wasatch Plateau for over 60 miles. In winter, the area becomes a popular destination for snowmobile enthusiasts.

Directions

From Ferron, Utah, head west on Canyon Road which becomes Ferron Canyon Road and then Forest Road 0022. In approximately 22 miles, turn south into the campground on Forest Road 0026. From Mayfield, Utah, head east on Forest Road 022 for approximately 27 miles, turn left on Skyline Drive at Twelve Mile Campground, then follow signage towards Ferron Reservoir. Willow Lake is approximately 4 miles east of Ferron Reservoir.
