About
Ferron Reservoir Campground Ferron North is located on the northeast portion of Ferron Reservoir, just below the ridgeline of the Wasatch Plateau at approximately 9,500 feet elevation. The campground is set in a scenic alpine basin among spruce, fir, and aspen trees that provide partial shade and spectacular seasonal displays of wildflowers in summer and brilliant autumn colors in fall. This small, first-come, first-served campground contains 5 single-family campsites with lake views. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets provided. Note that this section does not have potable water or garbage service, though water is available at the other two campgrounds surrounding Ferron Reservoir to the west and south. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. Ferron Reservoir offers excellent fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout, as well as opportunities for canoeing and small craft boating. The area is popular with OHV enthusiasts, with numerous trails crisscrossing the region, mainly consisting of 66-inch and 50-inch routes. The expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System provides more than 350 miles of designated, maintained trails suitable for all riding levels. Nearby Skyline Drive runs along the top of the Wasatch Plateau for more than 60 miles, offering stunning mountain scenery, glacial cirques, and access to numerous lakes and reservoirs. Additional fishing and paddling opportunities are available at nearby Rush Pond, Willow Lake, and Duck Fork Reservoir.
