About

Joes Valley Reservoir Campground is nestled in a scenic high mountain valley on Utah's Wasatch Plateau at 7,000 feet elevation. The campground sits adjacent to Joes Valley Reservoir and features paved roads with accessible single and double-family campsites, many offering views of the reservoir. Juniper, pinyon pine, and sagebrush cover the surrounding landscape, while aspens and pines dot the hillsides. The reservoir is known for excellent fishing opportunities, with populations of cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, tiger muskie, and trophy splake. A boat ramp within the campground provides easy access for boating, water skiing, and canoeing. Beyond water-based recreation, the area has gained international recognition for world-class bouldering in nearby Straight and Cottonwood Canyons. The campground also serves as a gateway to the 370-mile Arapeen OHV Trail System, which features well-maintained trails suitable for all skill levels with 66 and 55-inch designated routes. Additional recreational opportunities include horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking throughout the surrounding Manti-La Sal National Forest. Popular mountain fisheries at Grassy Lake, Pete's Hole, and Potters Ponds are all within 10 miles. The campground provides vault toilets, drinking water, and each site includes a fire pit and table.
