About

Twelve Mile Flat Campground occupies a wildflower-filled meadow beneath Mt. Baldy near the top of the Wasatch Plateau at 10,120 feet elevation. Mature spruce and pine trees dot the open landscape, providing partial shade. The campground includes single-family sites and two group sites that can accommodate up to 50 people and eight vehicles each. All sites feature picnic tables and fire rings with benches. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water or garbage service. ATV trails are abundant in the area, providing riding for all skill levels. Skyline Drive runs along the plateau ridgeline for over 60 miles, offering mountain scenery, glacial cirques, and views of spruce-fir and aspen forests. A steep drive over the ridge leads to Ferron Reservoir for canoeing and rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing. Wildlife sightings are common, and autumn brings spectacular fall colors. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with a campground host on site. Water can be obtained at Ferron Reservoir approximately 2 miles away. OHV riding is prohibited within the campground except for entry and exit. Pets must be leashed, and no horses or livestock are allowed.

Directions

From Mayfield, head east on Canyon Road (becomes Forest Road 022) approximately 12 miles. From Ferron, go about 28 miles west on Forest Road 022.
