About

Willow Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground located approximately 61 miles northeast of Boise at the confluence of Crooked River and Willow Creek. Set in a scenic Ponderosa pine forest along State Highway 21 (the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway), the campground features 4 sites in a partially shaded, open area that can accommodate up to 6 people each. The campground provides access to rainbow trout fishing in both Crooked River and Willow Creek. Numerous trail opportunities in the surrounding area offer hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ATV experiences. Wildlife viewing and summer wildflowers are abundant throughout the season. Historic Idaho City is just 16 miles south on Highway 21. During winter months, this area becomes a destination for backcountry skiers and snowmobilers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. A vault toilet is available, but there is no potable water. Due to the campground's proximity to Highway 21, some traffic noise should be expected.

Directions

From Idaho City, travel 18 miles northeast on State Highway 21. Turn right on Forest Service Road 384 and travel approximately 5.7 miles to the campground.
