About

The Beaver Creek Cabin was originally established for administrative use in 1912, with the current structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Nestled in a mixed-growth pine forest at 5,100 feet elevation in the Boise Mountains, the cabin accommodates up to 4 people with two twin beds and a futon. The kitchen features a propane oven and refrigerator, while a wood stove provides heat. Summer visitors enjoy indoor plumbing with a flush toilet, shower, and sink, plus running water available from May 20th through early October. Winter guests use a vault toilet outhouse and must pack out trash. The cabin lacks electricity, so bring light sources and extra batteries. Firewood is provided November through April, but summer visitors must collect their own. The location offers excellent recreation year-round. Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, OHV trails, and fishing for rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout in Beaver Creek and the Crooked River. Winter transforms the area into a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination with miles of trails. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with frequent beaver sightings plus mule deer, elk, wild turkeys, eagles, and occasional black bears or wolves.

Directions
