About
Willow Creek Campground is a rustic, no-fee campground situated along the Middle Fork of the Boise River at the north end of Arrowrock Reservoir in Boise National Forest. The campground provides 9 first-come, first-served sites in a partially shaded setting, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Vault toilets are available, but campers must bring their own drinking water as no potable water is provided. Access to the campground is via Forest Service Road 268 (Middle Fork Boise River Road), a narrow and occasionally rough route that requires careful driving. The road is passable by car in good weather conditions but may be challenging for larger vehicles. The scenic drive passes Arrowrock Dam and Cottonwood Campground before reaching Willow Creek. The Middle Fork Boise River and nearby Arrowrock Reservoir offer excellent trout fishing and swimming holes. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot deer, elk, waterfowl, eagles, and osprey in the area. The campground serves as a good base for exploring the surrounding forest and enjoying the natural beauty of this remote Idaho location.
Directions
From Boise, travel north on Highway 21 to the Arrowrock Reservoir turnoff. Turn right onto Forest Road 268 (Middle Fork Boise River Road) and continue approximately 22 miles past Arrowrock Dam and Cottonwood Campground. The road is narrow and may be rough.
