Cottonwood Guard Station is situated in the Boise National Forest approximately 18 miles east of Boise, in the Cottonwood Creek drainage north of Arrowrock Reservoir. The property is accessed via Forest Service Road 268 from Highway 21, then turning onto FS Road 377. Despite being listed as a rental cabin in some databases, this property does not appear in current Recreation.gov or official USFS cabin rental listings for Boise National Forest. The forest currently offers 13 cabin rentals including Atlanta Cabin, Beaver Creek Cabin, Deer Park Cabin, Graham Cabin, Third Fork Cabin, and Warm Springs Guard Station, but Cottonwood Guard Station is not among them. The nearby Cottonwood Campground offers 3 primitive campsites with vault toilets and no potable water, operating seasonally from late May through late September with no fees required.
Directions
From Boise, travel north on Highway 21 to Forest Road 268 for approximately 16 miles. Turn left on FS Road 377 for approximately 2 miles.
