Flat Fire GNA Salvage Road and Trail Closure

About
Grayback Campground is located 36 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, just off scenic State Highway 21 in the Boise National Forest. Historic Idaho City is just two miles north of the campground. The campground is situated on a hillside about a quarter-mile above the highway at an elevation of 4,200 feet, surrounded by ponderosa pine forest that provides partial shade throughout the site. Mores Creek can be accessed just below the campground, where anglers fish for rainbow trout. The Grayback Loop Trail begins within the campground, offering a 1-mile footpath for hikers. The area features abundant wildlife and summer wildflowers. Numerous trail opportunities exist just north of Idaho City for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicles. During winter, the area becomes popular for backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. The campground offers both individual and group camping options. Individual sites include single-family and double-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, lantern post, and campfire ring with grill. Two group sites feature picnic and serving tables, grills, campfire circles, and paved site pads. Group Site A accommodates up to 150 people and 20 vehicles, while Group Site B accommodates up to 100 people and 15 vehicles.
Directions
From Boise, take State Highway 21 north for 36 miles. The campground access road is on the east side of Highway 21 between mileposts 36 and 37. Turn right and proceed less than a mile to the campground.
