About

Williamson River Campground offers convenient access to the crystal-clear Williamson River in Oregon's Fremont-Winema National Forest. Located just off Highway 97 north of Chiloquin, the 19-site campground provides a classic Pacific Northwest camping experience among ponderosa pines and sagebrush. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate, with three vault toilets serving the campground. The campground's proximity to the river makes it popular with anglers, while miles of Forest Service roads offer mountain biking opportunities. A 1.3-mile walking trail connects to neighboring Collier State Park, home to the Collier State Park Logging Museum featuring historic logging equipment from the late 1800s and a relocated pioneer village. The Williamson River Trail begins at the campground and extends 2.3 miles to the forest boundary. One ADA-accessible campsite is available. The campground operates seasonally and does not accept reservations. Fees are $10 per night for a single site with a $4 charge for additional vehicles. ATVs are prohibited within the campground.

Directions

From Chiloquin, OR take U.S. Highway 97 north towards Chemult for approximately four miles. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 9730, then right again on FS Road 97130140. The campground is at the end of the road.
