About

Annie Creek Sno-Park is located 43 miles northwest of Klamath Falls near the Crater Lake National Park boundary in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. At an elevation of 4,400 feet, the area typically sees snow from late November through February. The site serves as an official stop on the Oregon Volcanic Scenic Byway and features an interpretive kiosk, two vault toilets, and an attractive log-style warming shelter with wood stove and benches that is open year-round. Snowmobilers enjoy cruising under snow-covered ponderosa pines and accessing extensive trail systems groomed by local snowmobile clubs. The site also offers excellent sledding opportunities on a large bowl-shaped hill adjacent to the warming shelter. While there are no managed cross-country ski trails directly from Annie Creek, winter enthusiasts of all ages visit for varied snow recreation. Fort Klamath, a historic military outpost on the Oregon Trail established in 1863 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, lies less than 10 miles away. An Oregon Sno-Park Permit is required between November 1 and April 30. No potable water is available, so visitors must bring their own water supply. The site allows overnight parking for winter recreation access.
