About
Scott Creek Campground is located 50 minutes southwest of Chemult, Oregon, in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. This remote campground offers six campsites in a peaceful, forested setting shaded by a mix of lodgepole pines, ponderosa pines, and white firs. Scott Creek flows quietly through the north side of the campground, where small trout can occasionally be seen swimming. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground has one vault toilet and an information board. There is no potable water, so visitors must bring an adequate supply. The site is free of charge and operates first-come, first-served with no reservation system. The campground is popular with hunters during fall season and offers access to mountain biking, OHV trail riding, and scenic viewing opportunities. Its remote location off Forest Service roads makes it ideal for those seeking solitude and a true backcountry camping experience.
Directions
From Chemult, take U.S. Highway 97 south towards Klamath Falls for approximately 16 miles, then turn right onto Military Crossing and left onto Sun Mountain Road. From Sun Mountain Road, turn right onto Forest Service Road 2310, then left onto FS Road 2310110. The campground will be on the left.
