* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Yavapai County, Coconino County, northern Gila County, Navajo County, central and southern Apache County. * WHEN...From 11 AM MST /noon MDT/ this morning through this evening. * IMPACTS...Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes, and over recently burned areas. Raging killer currents will be possible in side canyons and narrow slot canyons. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep monsoon moisture in place across northern Arizona will lead to storms capable of producing rainfall in excess of 2 inches per hour, resulting in an enhanced risk of flash flooding. - Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff.

About

White Spar Campground provides a convenient base for exploring the Prescott area while staying immersed in a ponderosa pine, oak, and manzanita forest. Located at 5,641 feet elevation just 2.7 miles south of downtown Prescott along Highway 89, the campground operates year-round with reduced capacity during winter months. The 52 single sites accommodate up to 5 people each, while 4 double sites handle groups of up to 10. The campground features 5 pull-through driveways, 34 back-in sites, and 17 parallel parking configurations, with the internal road system designed for vehicles 45 feet or less. Amenities include four vault restrooms, steel fire rings with concrete block grills at each site, and picnic tables. Nine water hydrants provide potable water seasonally. There are no RV hookups, dump station, or showers. ADA-accessible sites are available. Pets must remain on a 6-foot leash and never left unattended. Nearby attractions include Granite Basin Recreation Area, Granite Mountain Wilderness, Lynx Lake Recreation Area, and Thumb Butte. Activities in the area include fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and bird watching. The Tri-City area of Prescott, Chino Valley, and Prescott Valley offers year-round events and amenities within a short drive.

Directions

From downtown Prescott, take Montezuma Street (Highway 89) south for 2.7 miles. White Spar Campground is on the left (east side of Highway 89).
