Pile Burning Work Continues on the Bradshaw RD (Prescott Basin)

About

Hilltop Campground is located in the Prescott Basin at 5,712 feet elevation, about half a mile south of Lynx Lake in a cool ponderosa pine, oak, and manzanita forest. The facility offers 34 single and 3 double occupancy campsites, with 23 single and 3 double sites available for advance reservation through Recreation.gov. The remaining sites operate as first-come, first-served. Campsites feature picnic tables, steel fire rings, and established tent pads. The campground includes five vault restrooms, trash service, and potable water from six faucets. Sites generally accommodate RVs under 40 feet with a mix of five pull-through, 16 back-in, and 16 parallel parking asphalt-surfaced driveways. Accessible campsites are available. No RV hookups or dump station are provided. Lynx Lake is within walking distance, offering 55 acres of boating and fishing opportunities. Connector and loop trails throughout the Prescott Basin provide access to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Nearby attractions include Thumb Butte Recreation Area, Granite Basin Recreation Area, Granite Mountain Wilderness, and several lakes managed by the City of Prescott. The tri-city area of Prescott, Chino Valley, and Prescott Valley is just minutes away.

Directions

From Phoenix: Take I-17 northbound to Exit 262 onto Highway 69 North toward Prescott. Continue 30 miles to S. Walker Road. Turn left and proceed south on S. Walker Road for 3.8 miles, then turn left into Hilltop Campground. From Flagstaff: Take I-17 southbound to Exit 278 onto Highway 169 West. Continue 15 miles to Highway 69, turn right and continue north 12 miles to S. Walker Road. Turn left, proceed 3.8 miles south, then turn left into the campground.
