About

West Star Lake Campground sits in the central portion of the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest on the northeast corner of Star Lake. The 1,206-acre lake offers quality fishing, swimming, and boating. The campground maintains the quieter, traditional character of rustic forest camping with 18 sites spread across wooded terrain, providing more privacy than modern campgrounds. Facilities include two ADA-accessible vault toilet buildings, two hand pumps providing potable water, and separate trash and recycling dumpsters. A boat launch provides direct lake access, and the campground connects to the paved bike trail running between Crystal Lake/St. Germain and Boulder Junction. Sites 1708-1709 can be reserved together as a double campsite for groups up to 12 people with two camping units. Reservations are required for all sites and can be made same-day or up to 11 months in advance through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-947-2757. A Wisconsin vehicle admission sticker is required. The campground operates seasonally from late April through early November.
