About
North Muskellunge Group Campground provides a secluded group camping experience on the north shore of Big Muskellunge Lake in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. This 236,000-acre state forest encompasses over 900 lakes and offers some of the most pristine wilderness camping in Wisconsin's Northwoods. The campground can accommodate up to 80 campers and is equipped with vault toilets and hand pumps providing drinking water. The facility is designed specifically for large groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and church groups seeking a rustic camping experience away from individual family campgrounds. The gates remain locked except when reserved groups are in residence, ensuring privacy and security for organized groups. Reservations are required and must be made in advance through the Wisconsin State Park reservation system. Stays are limited to seven nights per visit and only seven nights within any 14-day period. The campground operates seasonally from late April through early November. All vehicles must display a valid Wisconsin State Park and Forest vehicle admission pass.
