East Star Lake Campground sits on the southeast corner of Star Lake, a 1,206-acre lake renowned for excellent fishing and swimming in the heart of Wisconsin's largest state forest. The campground's 30 sites (numbered 1601-1630) include standard family sites, double sites (1614-1615, 1619-1620) that accommodate up to 12 people and two camping units, and four walk-to tent-only sites (1627-1630) for those seeking more seclusion. As a rustic campground, East Star Lake provides essential amenities without modern hookups. Two vault toilet buildings serve the camping loops, with ADA-accessible facilities available. Drinking water comes from two hand pumps, and trash/recycling dumpsters are located near the entrance. The adjacent boat landing includes its own vault toilet, hand pump, and parking area, providing convenient lake access. The campground operates seasonally from the Thursday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. Reservations are required and can be made up to 11 months in advance online at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-947-2757.

From Boulder Junction, head south on County Highway K, then turn west toward Star Lake. The campground is located on the southeast shore of Star Lake.
