About

Allequash Lake Boat In Campground is located in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest between Minocqua and Boulder Junction, east of Highway M in Vilas County. This primitive campground features 4 reservable boat-in campsites accessible only by watercraft, offering a true wilderness camping experience. The lake itself has no development aside from the boat landing, creating an exceptionally secluded environment. Each campsite is widely spaced from the others to maximize privacy and can accommodate two small tents. Basic amenities include a picnic table, fire ring, and an open-air toilet located nearby. The sites must be reserved in advance through the Wisconsin State Park reservation system, with reservations available up to 11 months ahead or same-day. Campers can stay up to 14 nights per visit, with a maximum of 6 people per site. All camping gear and supplies must be transported by boat or kayak, and campers should be prepared for a primitive experience with no potable water, electricity, or modern facilities. This campground is ideal for paddlers seeking solitude and a backcountry experience in Wisconsin's North Woods.
