About
Quinn River Campground occupies a prime location on the western shore of Crane Prairie Reservoir, tucked into Central Oregon's Cascade Range at 4,456 feet elevation. The campground features 41 well-spaced standard sites arranged in two loops, each with a picnic table, fire ring with grate, and easy access to the reservoir's productive waters. Crane Prairie Reservoir is managed by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for rainbow trout, mountain whitefish, brook trout, and largemouth bass. A boat ramp and fish cleaning stations within the campground make this an ideal basecamp for anglers. Beyond fishing, the reservoir attracts remarkable wildlife: sandhill cranes nest in surrounding meadows, bald eagles patrol the shoreline, and osprey hunt from platforms erected after natural snags toppled from age. Early morning and evening visitors may spot Rocky Mountain elk grazing lakeside meadows. The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water via hand pump. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 30 feet. The Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway passes directly by, offering access to numerous alpine lakes and peaks throughout the region.
Directions
From Bend, travel approximately 50 miles southwest on Cascade Lakes Highway (Highway 46). The campground entrance is on the left side of the highway.
