About
Sheep Bridge Campground occupies a scenic location where the Deschutes River flows into Wickiup Reservoir in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. The campground features 23 standard nonelectric sites arranged in a single loop, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump serve the campground. The Deschutes River here supports diverse fisheries including rainbow trout, whitefish, bull trout, and kokanee salmon. A primitive boat ramp within the campground provides direct access to the river for motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Bird watching is another popular activity given the riparian habitat. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through mid-October, weather dependent. The water system is typically activated in May and shut off by September 30 to prevent freeze damage. A short drive from the campground, numerous trailheads provide access to the Three Sisters Wilderness for backcountry exploration.
