About

Weldon Springs State Park Campground sits within a 550-acre park in DeWitt County, just southeast of Clinton, Illinois. The main campground features 75 Class A campsites, all with electric hookups, vehicular access, picnic tables, and cooking grills. Water hydrants are distributed throughout the camping area. The campground includes a modern shower building, pit toilets, playground equipment, and a sanitary dump station. Three campsites are designed for visitors with disabilities, featuring large hard-surfaced pads with nearby accessible privies and water. Beyond the main campground, primitive backpack sites are located along Salt Creek, though these can flood in spring. Two group camping areas are available: Black Locust Group Camp accommodates up to 150 campers with a shelter and pit toilets, while Long Point serves youth groups with lakeside camping for up to 75 campers. The surrounding park offers diverse recreation including fishing and boating on the 29-acre Union Creek Lake, hiking trails, and winter activities like cross-country skiing and tobogganing. The campground operates year-round, with the shower building open from approximately May 1 through November 1. Reservations are accepted through the ExploreMoreIL online system.
