Eagle Creek State Recreation Area Campground

Eagle Creek State Park encompasses over 11,100 acres of water and 250 miles of shoreline along Lake Shelbyville in Shelby County, Illinois. The park was developed following construction of the Shelbyville Reservoir Project, authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1958. Illinois has managed the area since 1968 on a long-term federal lease from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 75 Class A reservable sites with electric hookups, plus non-reservable Class B/S and Class D primitive sites for walk-in tent camping. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. A modern shower house with flush toilets serves the main campground area, while vault toilets are available at the walk-in tent area and day-use areas. Water hydrants are distributed throughout the grounds. An organized group camp area is also available by reservation. Recreational opportunities abound, including boating with multiple launch ramps, fishing for various species, hiking trails through indigenous woodlands, and an on-site golf course. The park offers cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails in winter months.
