About

Acorn Campground is Bear Creek Lake State Park's lakeside camping area, nestled within Virginia's Cumberland State Forest. The campground features 17 sites: 10 tent-only sites (4-13) positioned along the water with lake views and 10x10 tent pads, plus 7 mixed-use sites (1, 2, 3, 15, 16, 17, 18) with water and electric hookups that can accommodate pop-ups and small trailers up to 20 feet. Site 2 is ADA accessible. Each site includes a picnic table and metal fire ring for campfires or charcoal grilling. The campground has a bathhouse with flush toilets and showers, drinking water, and a campground host typically stationed at site 14. Firewood and ice are available for purchase at the campground entrance. The surrounding park offers a 40-acre lake with a swimming beach, boat rentals (Memorial Day through Labor Day), fishing, an archery range, playgrounds, and over 10 miles of hiking and biking trails through the forest.
