Twin Lakes State Park campground occupies a historic 548-acre property in Prince Edward County, Virginia, encompassing two scenic lakes: Prince Edward Lake (36 acres) and Goodwin Lake (15 acres). The campground offers 32 sites ranging from tent/popup accommodations up to 36-foot RV capacity, all with water and electric hookups (20/30 amp). Each site includes a fire ring with grill and parking for two vehicles. A modern centralized bathhouse provides showers and restrooms, and a dump station serves RV campers. The park's history dates to the New Deal era when the CCC established Camp Gallion in 1933, one of Virginia's few Black CCC camps. Originally segregated as separate facilities, Goodwin Lake and Prince Edward Lake merged in 1976 and adopted the Twin Lakes name in 1986. Edgar Latham became the first Black superintendent in Virginia state parks history when appointed here in 1950. Recreational opportunities include swimming at the beach (Memorial Day through Labor Day), fishing for bass, sunfish, crappie, and catfish, and boating with electric motors. Six miles of hiking trails wind through hardwood forests and along lakeshores, with an adjacent 8-mile multi-use trail in Prince Edward-Gallion State Forest. The Cedar Crest Conference Center near Prince Edward Lake serves group gatherings.

Twin Lakes State Park is near Farmville, about an hour southwest of Richmond. Take U.S. 360 West of Burkeville to Route 613 (Indian Springs Rd.), then go east on Route 629 (Twin Lakes Rd.) to 788 Twin Lakes Rd., Green Bay, VA 23942.
