About

Twin Lakes State Park Shelters provide covered day-use facilities within this historic park in Prince Edward County, Virginia. The park features two distinct shelter options: Shelter 1, a larger wheelchair-accessible structure accommodating up to 60 people, and Shelter 2, a charming rustic shelter built from cedar trunks and beams that seats approximately 25 people near the swimming area. These shelters are ideal for family reunions, group picnics, and outdoor gatherings. While they are day-use only (8 a.m. to dusk), overnight visitors can utilize the park's 33-site campground or 11 climate-controlled cabins. The park offers boat launches on both Goodwin Lake and Prince Edward Lake, hiking trails, and a swimming beach. Parking fees are not included with shelter rentals. The park is located about an hour southwest of Richmond near Farmville and is open year-round, though individual facility availability varies by season.

From Richmond, take US-360 West approximately 60 miles to Green Bay. Turn left onto Twin Lakes Road (Route 629) and continue to the park entrance at 788 Twin Lakes Rd., Green Bay, VA 23942.
