About
Upper Meadows Campground is a small, scenic campground located adjacent to the South Fork of the Ogden River in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Situated at 5,300 feet elevation among shady cottonwoods and willows, the campground offers 9 single sites with gravel spurs, cement table pads, fire rings, and vault toilets. Moose and deer occasionally wander through the area.
The South Fork Ogden River runs alongside the campground, making it a prime spot for fishing, swimming, and tubing. Life jackets are required for all tubers. Causey Reservoir, a scenic mountain lake with canoeing and fishing, is three miles east. The surrounding Ogden Valley offers extensive hiking, biking, horseback riding, and OHV trails. Pineview Reservoir is a short drive away for additional boating and fishing opportunities.
The campground is part of the South Fork Campground complex along Highway 39, which includes Magpie, Botts, South Fork, Perception Park, Lower Meadows, and Willows campgrounds from west to east. A campground host at nearby Lower Meadows sells firewood. The gate is locked nightly at 10 PM with a tire-ripper exit.
