About
Lower Meadows Campground is one of the most spacious campgrounds in the South Fork complex, with individual sites set far apart amid tall grass, cottonwoods, and willows along the South Fork Ogden River. At 5,300 feet elevation and just 9 miles from Huntsville, Utah, it offers easy access while maintaining a secluded feel. Moose and deer are frequent visitors.
The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. This is a pack-it-in/pack-it-out facility with no trash service. The 23 sites include 17 single sites and 6 double sites suitable for groups up to 16 people. No hookups are available.
Popular recreation includes fishing, swimming, and tubing on the South Fork Ogden River (life jacket required for tubing). Causey Reservoir, 4 miles east, offers canoeing, fishing, and access to hiking and biking trails. Highway 39 continues to Monte Cristo Summit for scenic mountain views, and abundant ATV and hiking trails are nearby.
