About
South Fork Campground is located on the banks of the South Fork Ogden River at 5,200 feet elevation, approximately 7 miles east of Huntsville, Utah in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground features 44 sites spread across two loops (Loop A and Loop B), including both single and double-family sites. The setting is scenic, with sites nestled among cottonwoods and willows, and moose and deer occasionally wander through. The campground offers gravel roads and parking spurs, cement table pads, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Vault toilets and potable drinking water are provided. A campground host is stationed at site 21 near the entrance and sells firewood. Loop A sites are reservable through Recreation.gov while additional sites are first-come, first-served. The South Fork Ogden River runs alongside the campground, making it a popular destination for fishing, swimming, and tubing (life jackets required for all tubers). Several hiking and mountain biking trails begin nearby. Causey Reservoir, about 4 miles east, offers canoeing, fishing, and trail access. Highway 39 continues to Monte Cristo Summit with sweeping mountain views and abundant OHV trails.
Directions
