South Fork Campground is located on the banks of the South Fork Ogden River at an elevation of 5,200 feet, approximately 7 miles east of Huntsville, Utah along Highway 39. This scenic campground sits among cottonwoods and willows, with the South Fork running directly alongside the campground. Moose and deer occasionally wander through the area, adding to the natural ambiance. The campground contains 35 single-family sites and 8 double-family sites, all featuring picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, utility tables, and cement site pads. Gravel roads and parking spurs accommodate RVs and trailers. Loop A sites are reservable through Recreation.gov, while some sites operate first-come, first-served. An on-site campground host is available near the entrance. Campers love this location for its excellent river access. Tubing down the South Fork Ogden River is extremely popular (life jackets required), as is fishing. Several hiking and mountain biking trails begin in the immediate area. The beautiful Ogden Valley offers additional recreation opportunities, with Pineview Reservoir a short drive away for boating, fishing, and swimming. Causey Reservoir is located about 4 miles east, offering canoeing, fishing, and access to additional trails. Highway 39 continues to Monte Cristo Summit with sweeping mountain views and abundant ATV and hiking trails.

Directions

South Fork is located approximately 7 miles east of Huntsville, Utah, on Highway 39. From I-15, take the 12th Street exit and continue through Ogden Canyon. Continue on Highway 39 toward Monte Cristo.
