About
Umapine Campground sits in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, positioned between Cuuyem and Umapine Creeks amid ponderosa pines. This rustic facility caters primarily to off-highway vehicle enthusiasts, functioning as the central staging area for the Winom-Frazier OHV trail network with access to over 140 miles of trails ranging from beginner-friendly to technically challenging. The campground offers 8 sites total: 5 single-family sites and 3 group sites, one of which is a pull-through configuration accommodating larger rigs. A large parking lot adjacent to the campground provides convenient loading and unloading space for OHV equipment. Each site includes a picnic table, and vault toilets are available on-site. This is a primitive, self-service campground with no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Payment of $10 per night for single sites is handled at the on-site pay station. The campground operates seasonally from May through September and is not maintained during the off-season.
