About
Lane Creek Campground is a small, rustic campground located in the Umatilla National Forest along Highway 244, approximately 11 miles east of Ukiah, Oregon. Set among open stands of large Ponderosa pine, the campground offers 7 campsites including one group site. The campground features accessible vault toilets but no potable water or garbage service, requiring visitors to pack out all trash. The campground is primarily first-come, first-served and offers excellent hunting and wildlife photo opportunities. Site 3 is designated as a group site accommodating larger parties. All sites feature picnic tables and fire pits. The campground is adjacent to Lane Creek and is near the Bear Wallow Interpretive Trail, a quarter-mile educational trail that interprets the lifecycle of steelhead fish. Lane Creek Campground operates seasonally with maintenance from Memorial Day through mid-November, though the campground remains accessible year-round when not closed by snow. During winter months, the campground is not maintained but remains available for use, with access by snowmobile only once snow makes the road impassable. Fees are charged through November 15.
