About

Twin Springs Campground is a small, peaceful campground located 40 minutes southeast of Lakeview in the Fremont-Winema National Forest at 6,300 feet elevation. The campground features three campsites nestled among tall ponderosa pine, white fir, and aspen trees. Twin springs flow naturally from the rocky hillside near the center of camp, creating a lush riparian understory along the creek that bursts with bright wildflowers in late spring and summer. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables, fire grates, and one vault toilet. No potable water is available onsite, so visitors must pack in adequate drinking water. The lightly-used campground offers excellent opportunities for bird watching and wildlife viewing, with deer commonly spotted in the area. Hikers can access the Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail #161, located two miles west near Rogger Meadow. Twin Springs operates seasonally from mid-May through mid-October and is first-come, first-served with no camping fees. The remote location and limited facilities make it ideal for campers seeking solitude and a primitive camping experience in Oregon's outback country.
