About

Located in the Warner Mountains of the Fremont-Winema National Forest, Can Springs Campground is a primitive forest camp approximately one hour northeast of Lakeview, Oregon. The campground is named for a natural spring that births a bubbling creek flowing through the site, creating a riparian vegetation area that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding forest. Large ponderosa pine trees dominate the landscape, providing shade and creating a wonderful place to explore or relax in nature's solitude. The campground offers only three campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, ensuring a quiet, uncrowded experience. At approximately 6,000+ feet elevation, the site experiences light use and offers access to hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing opportunities. This is a truly primitive camping experience with no potable water available onsite and basic restroom facilities. Campers should come prepared with adequate water supplies and expect minimal amenities. The remote location and peaceful setting make it ideal for those seeking solitude and a genuine backcountry experience in the Warner Mountains.
