About

Can Springs Campground sits in a quiet corner of the Fremont-Winema National Forest, about an hour northeast of Lakeview in the Warner Mountains. A spring-fed creek bubbles through the campground, creating a riparian corridor that contrasts with the surrounding dry pine forest. Large ponderosa pines provide shade and a peaceful atmosphere for campers seeking solitude. The campground offers three basic campsites, each with a picnic table and fire ring. This is a truly primitive experience with no potable water and no restroom facilities. Visitors must pack in all water and pack out all trash. The site sees light use, making it an excellent choice for those who value quiet over amenities. Recreational opportunities include day hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. The remote location and lack of services mean campers should arrive fully self-sufficient.
