About
Cave Lake Campground sits in the remote Warner Mountain Ranger District of Modoc National Forest, offering a quiet escape in California's northeastern corner. This lightly used campground is ideal for campers seeking solitude away from more popular destinations. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets and fire rings at each site, but visitors must bring their own water as none is available on-site. With a two-vehicle maximum per site and additional vehicle fees, the campground accommodates various camping setups. The area sees its busiest use during fall deer hunting season, but otherwise remains a peaceful retreat. The surrounding high desert landscape sits at approximately 5,000 feet elevation, offering access to the diverse terrain of the Modoc National Forest. Campers should be prepared for self-sufficient camping and must pack out all trash, as no garbage service is provided.
