Twin Lake Campground
Closed — Closed for the season. Typically operates from May through September, with some sites reservable through Recreation.gov and others available first-come, first-served.
About
Twin Lake Campground rests in a juniper tree belt at 8,100 feet elevation in Twelve Mile Canyon, positioned between the lower river bottom and the upper sub-alpine reaches of Skyline Drive. The campground is nestled among Flagstaff Limestone bluffs approximately 7 miles east of Mayfield, Utah. Its moderate elevation allows for early spring access and comfortable fall temperatures compared to higher elevation campgrounds. The campground contains 21 single-family sites and one group site that accommodates up to 40 people and six vehicles. Three sites are available for advance reservation through Recreation.gov, while the remaining sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table. The campground features an off-road vehicle learner loop and serves as an ideal staging area for exploring the extensive Arapeen OHV Trail System, offering exciting riding opportunities for all skill levels. Twin Lake is a pack-in, pack-out facility with no water or trash service. Two vault toilets are regularly maintained throughout the season. Off-road vehicle riding is permitted only for entering and exiting the campground or using the designated learner loop. The location provides convenient access to both technical OHV trails and the scenic Skyline Drive.
