About

Turpin Meadow Campground sits in the Buffalo Valley of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, about 17 miles east of Moran Junction and south of Yellowstone National Park. The campground caters particularly to equestrian users, featuring corrals, hitching posts, a stock tank, and designated areas for tethering stock. All 18 sites are non-electric, with four pull-through sites that can accommodate rigs up to 66 feet. Amenities include three vault restrooms, potable water available from a hand pump, bear-proof food storage boxes at each site, dumpsters for trash disposal, and a game storage pole for hunters. The campground serves as a staging area for backcountry trips into the Teton Wilderness via the nearby Turpin Meadow Trailhead. Bears are active in the area, and all food and scented items must be stored in bear boxes or locked vehicles. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through September 15, with a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served sites. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Senior/Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on single site fees.
