About
Pinnacles Campground sits at the edge of the Absaroka Range in Shoshone National Forest, offering 21 campsites with dramatic mountain views near Brooks Lake. The campground provides excellent access to both motorized and non-motorized boating on Brooks Lake, where anglers can pursue brook and rainbow trout. A boat ramp is located at nearby Brooks Lake. The scenic drive in reveals the striking geologic formations of Pinnacle Butte. All sites include RV parking and tent pads, bear boxes, fire rings with grills, and picnic tables. Potable water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets are provided. Garbage collection is available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 16-day stay limit. Food storage in bear boxes is required per the Shoshone National Forest Food Storage Order. The maximum spur length is 32 feet, making this campground suitable for smaller RVs and trailers. Day hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, and scenic viewing opportunities abound in the surrounding wilderness.
Directions
Take U.S. Highway 26/287 northwest from Dubois for 23 miles, then take Forest Road 515 north for 5 miles. At Brooks Lake, bear right on Forest Road 516.
