About
Angles Campground is not an official developed campground but rather an informal camping area at the Angles Trailhead in Bridger-Teton National Forest. The site features 2 primitive, no-fee campsites without any hookups, located behind Togwotee Mountain Lodge off Forest Service Road 30040, approximately 9 miles from the Blackrock Ranger Station. Each campsite is equipped with bear-proof food storage boxes and unofficial fire rings, reflecting the area's location within grizzly bear recovery habitat. The facility offers only basic amenities: a vault toilet and a non-potable water source that must be boiled before use. Campers should come prepared with their own drinking water. Adjacent to the campsites, the trailhead features 2 hitch rails and temporary-use corrals for equestrian users. The Teton Wilderness boundary lies approximately half a mile from the trailhead. The Angles Trail descends about 1.5 miles down Angle Mountain to meet the Pack Bridges area, a popular fishing spot on the Buffalo River. At over 8,000 feet elevation in the Togwotee Pass area, the site offers spectacular mountain scenery when weather permits. Access is via gravel Forest Service roads from US Highway 26/287, approximately 16 miles east of Moran, Wyoming.
Directions
From Moran, Wyoming, head east on US Highway 26/287 for approximately 16 miles. Turn left onto Old Togwotee Highway/Forest Service Road 30040, passing through Togwotee Mountain Lodge complex, and follow for 0.25 miles. Turn right onto FS Road 30041 and continue for 0.3 miles. The Angles Trailhead is on the right.
