About

Trails End River Camp is one of 17 primitive float-in campsites along Section B of the Green River in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Located approximately 8.2 miles downstream from Spillway Boat Ramp and 1 mile from Little Hole Boat Ramp, this site can be accessed by boat or on foot via an unofficial trail along the river left bank. The campsite is equipped with basic amenities including a picnic table, campfire ring with benches, tent pads, and a blind for portable toilet use. The site is situated in a high desert environment typical of the area, with shade provided by pinyon pine, juniper, cottonwood, and ponderosa pine trees. During summer months, wildflowers dot the surrounding landscape. Section B of the Green River is less crowded than the famous Section A below the dam, offering solitude while still providing excellent fishing opportunities for rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. The limited access in this section allows healthy brown trout populations to thrive. Campers must be self-sufficient as no potable water is available at the site. The nearest vault toilets are located at nearby Cottonwood Camp and Red Creek Camp. All campers are required to carry and use portable toilet systems, and a Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Use Pass is required.

Directions
